Focus theme: Assistive robots and systems for healthcare and rehabilitation



Aim and scope

The school will consist of lectures, lab/demonstrations and interactive sessions in the following subject areas: Prosthetic Technologies,  Recuperative Systems, Exoskeletons,Therapeutic/Surgery Robotics,Assistive and Caregiving Robotics, Bio-signal collection and information processing, Intelligence for robotics and prosthetic devices.


Target audience:

PhD-level researchers - those currently pursuing the degree, seriously considering, or having completed the PhD and showing interest in the topics of the school.

ARTIPED July 23-25, 2009
The Exploratory Workshop on Assistive and Recuperative Technologies for Injured, ill, Pregnant, Elderly and people with Disabilities

ISRIS will take place over the entire duration of the two events (LAB-RS and ARTIPED). Students will be able to attend evening invited presentations at these events.

ISRIS 2009 will take place in Iasi, Romania. The capital of the medieval principality of Moldavia, Iasi is a city immersed in history and culture, yet trendy and vibrant due to the tens of thousands of university students that live in Romania’s oldest - and second largest  -university city.  The social program will include a tour to the famous painted monasteries of Northern Moldavia and Iasi sightseeing.

Applications

Applicants should submit a CV and a short (up to one page) description of research interests to Adrian.stoica@jpl.nasa.gov, with subject ISRIS  2009 Application.  Applications will be reviewed in the order received. The school will be limited to 40 students.

The last round of applications will be evaluated on May15th.
